«Египетский Гермес»: философский мистицизм и откровенное знание

Аннотация

Стремление к историчности — важная тенденция современной истории философии. В этой связи возникает вопрос: насколько историчными, связанными с Египтом, представляются нам теперь трактаты Герметического корпуса? Возможно ли, учитывая универсальный и мистический характер этих текстов, тем не менее идентифицировать в них нечто такое, что позволило бы понять герметизм в контексте эллинистического Египта, а не просто эллинизма? Имеет ли в этой связи смысл традиционное разделение герметизма на «высокий» философский и «низкий» практический, или же это деление представляет собой еще один предрассудок, от которого для лучшего понимания изучаемого явления лучше отказаться? В статье представлены несколько позиций по этому вопросу, сформировавшихся в течение последнего столетия, а также предложены дополнительные наблюдения, позволяющие, как нам представляется, лучше понять герметику в контексте александрийской религиозной философии. Для этого мы обращаемся к истокам легенды о Тоте, которая в греческом контексте восходит к Платону, а затем подробно рассматриваем важный герметический текст — «Определения», полностью сохранившийся лишь в средневековом переводе на армянский язык и лишь частично дошедший до нас в греческом оригинале. Мы стремимся развить гипотезу, впервые высказанную издателем «Определений», в соответствии с которой философские афоризмы подобного рода могли быть тем исходным материалом, на основании которого затем писались более пространные и связные герметические трактаты. Если эта гипотеза верна, то различные гностические элементы в герметических трактатах, нередко неуместные, окажутся лишь позднейшими добавлениями комментаторов в тексты, которые появились и имели хождение в эллинистическом Египте еще до того, как возник гностицизм.
