Founded in 1985, "Vestnik of Saint-Petersburg University. Philosophy and Conflict Studies" is a peer-reviewed journal of science and theory drawing together the results of the researchers all around the world. The main focus of the journal is papers based on original research, analytical reviews.
Journal thematizes the subject areas of traditional philosophical disciplines — Ontology, Epistemology, Logic, Ethics, Aesthetics and History of philosophy. In addition it publishes newest developments on Philosophical Anthropology, History and Philosophy of culture, Religious Studies and Conflictology.

The Journal is included in the list of the leading refereed academic journals and periodicals recommended by the Higher Attestation Committee at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, assigned for publication of the key results of doctoral dissertations (including the both Russian doctoral degrees: the PhD and the Doctor of Philosophy).
