A FORGOTTEN POLEMICS (A. A. BOGDANOV — V. I. LENIN)
Abstract
Th e article provides an analysis of the philosophical content of the polemics between Bogdanov and Lenin which began aft er Bogdanov’s Empiriomonism had been published. Th e author criticizes the traditional approaches to studying this polemics as he believes they were one-sided because of their being politically or emotionally engaged. He proposes his own in-depth study of the essential problems which determined the subject of the philosophical discussion between Bogdanov and Lenin. It is proved that in spite of Bogdanov’s and Lenin’s philosophical positions being formally contrary they should be regarded as identical. It is concluded that Lenin’s criticism infl uenced Bogdanov’s views and resulted both in his thesis of the “end of philosophy” and in his attempt to substitute science — tektology — for philosophy.
