PHOTOGRAPHIC DOCUMENTATION RESOURCE OF THE DIGITAL AGE
Abstract
Th e article is dedicated to photographic documentation conditioned by the shift from analog to digital photography. Th e photographic image replaced manual facsimile and became a signifi cant part of documentation. At the beginning, photography was considered a “mechanical copy” of the visible world, so there was no “photodocumentary” as such. Now in the era of transition to digital photography we encounter a situation whereby the features of art photography infl uence photo reports and documentation. In our time, the documentation is oft en served as documentation of the document, using the remains of confi dence in the photodocuments of contemporaries. But the documentary resource in modern digital photography has not been exhausted because with the increased possibility of invasion into the image, the technology of tracking these invasions to digital photography has likewise improved.
