Th e article is a critical review of spiritual and moral crisis of modern Russia through the prism of the «philosophy of the heart» — tradition, represented by V. Soloviev, N. Lossky, N. Berdyaev and other creators of Russian religious renaissance. Th e author examines the idea of love as the basic archetype of Russian culture, the principle of life of the People’s soul. Th is principle is being destroyed now by globalization which obstructs or perverts the national identity. Th e revival of the «Russian idea» and principles of organic national life should begin with the rehabilitation of love for the homeland.
