Th e pattern problems in confl ictology
Abstract
A major feature of the modern science as a whole is the reality of obliteration of the border lines between natural sciences and liberal arts. The authors examine the role of mathematical models in the research carried out in humanitarian and social studies. The work off ers a systematized description of model presentation methods used to research both simple and complex phenomena, events and situations. It also specifies the stages of a model description elaboration and formation. Special attention is devoted to the problem of creating a verbal phenomenological model of the phenomenon under study. The pattern structure of the confl ict is described as a complex social phenomenon and the stages of its evolution. The solution of pattern problems is analyzed by means of discreet and analogous mathematics, as well as symbol logics.
