CONFESSION AND REFLECTION (BASED ON «CONFESSIONS» BY A. AUGUSTINE)
Abstract
Th is article analyzes the «Confessions» by A. Augustine as work of literature aimed at a specifi c audience. Th e author shows that the solution of the problem is connected to the problem of identity, the answer to the question «Who I am?» in the Christian discourse. Augustine tells his readers that if they want to answer the question «Who I am?», they should try to tell their own story. Abstract answers — «I am a Roman,» or «I am a Greek,» or «I am a Christian» entail question «What does it mean to be a Roman, a Greek, a Christian?» And together with them and the need for interpretation in its relation to those who fell to become your interlocutor.
