OBJECTIVITY: FROM SELF-EVIDENT TO THE OBVIOUS
Abstract
Th e concept of objectivity is defi ned in the article as, on the one hand, recognized as the basic scientifi c value and, on the other hand, non-obvious in this case. Bringing to the obvious is associated with the problem of compatibility of historicity and objectivity, with necessity to form a complete notion of objectivity and to defi ne it as an essential element of scientifi c research. Historicity suggests three points: fi rstly, the beginning, in which we can fi nd the co-existence and interaction of contradictory meanings; secondly, the development, in which diff erent meanings are found and brought to the confrontation as a basis for action; thirdly, the reappearance of the source as a response to the modern problem situation. As a result of the treatment to the genesis of the concept of objectivity, which is the starting point from the modern problem situation, a notion of scientifi c objectivity was formed that shows a mutual complementarity of its basic meanings: the independence of the subject and the relation to reality and to subject as the basis of universal and necessary judgments. Complete notion of objectivity as a scientifi c value includes both the motif of research related to the question about independent reality, and the answer to this question related to the organization of proper scientifi c activity of the subject.
