“LIFE OF CULTURE” AND “CULTURE OF LIFE” CONCEPTS AND THEIR METHODOLOGICAL AND HEURISTIC POTENTIAL
Abstract
Th e article deals with identifi cation of potential of “life of culture” and “culture of life» concepts and their methodological and heuristic potential. It is validated that the largest potential is off ered by an anthropological approach viewing life of culture as a process, while holding culture of life to be a degree of development of man’s essential forces. It is suggested that culturological approach be supplemented by a study in the context of sociocultural anthropoecology. whose task is to substantiate fundamental values of man’s interaction with nature, society, culture. Regarded as such are harmony, love, creative deeds. Accordingly, life of culture is shown to be a process, and culture of life, the result of applying those values. Th e article raises the question of importance of images of the past, present and future times in culture. It is concluded that a benefi cial course of life of culture and a high level of culture of life are possible following the formula “a glorious past — a happy present — a bright future”. Refs 22.
