REHABILITATION OF METAPHYSICS IN ANALYTIC TRADITION

Abstract

Th e article is devoted to condition for restoring metaphysics within analytic philosophy. Th e author begins consideration of topic from the diff erence between analytic and continental philosophies at the context of Absolute Spirit dialectics. Th e analytic philosophy win demonstrated the end of metaphysics. However analytic philosophy has undergone a profound evolution in its relation to metaphysics. Ayer said that metaphysicians talk nonsense, whereas Strawson has the word “metaphysics” in the title of one of his works. Th is change is partly due to the rise of structuralism and ecology at the second part of XX century. For example, in the beginning of century forest was defi ned as a lot of trees, but at the end of century it is defi ned as ecosystem. Metaphysics as investigation of supernatural things has found itself in investigation of context, whereas etaphysical essences were converted into meanings and lost their status of eternal and absolute substances.
