Ecology of culture: sides of the problem
Abstract
This paper compares various branches of ecology of culture (ecology of culture, ecology of history, ecology of language, ethnic ecology, and ethnic aesthetics) in order to summarize both approaches and definitions of the subject and defi ne the main issues of ecology of culture. It is shown that various approaches to ecology of culture derive from two different concepts of culture i. e. structural-functional and value-semantic. The article reveals the distinction between these conceptions of preserving the culture as a human environment and preserving the traditions and integrity of “Home”. The position of protection of humanitarian reproduction of mankind and human personality is justified. To successfully achieve this aim it is necessary to keep priority of trends to preserve the tendencies and values of natural, material and spiritual culture, national and historical preservation of variety of languages of culture and conditions of their authentic existence.
