Archetype as a form of orienting consciousness
Abstract
The focus of the article is modifications of archetype consciousness and its realizations in production and spiritual life. The paper gives a brief historical outline of archetypical consciousness in different fields of knowledge. It is mentioned that the notions of an archetype and a type are aimed to bring order into chaos of the world, but as opposed to the concept of archetype, the notion of type is marked with diversity of meaning. The typification in the sphere of art provides a good example. In addition, it considers the role of archetypical consciousness in the process of creation of artifacts, which externalize human creative abilities. It is worth of mentioning that to create an artifact means to reject unambiguity of thought and to stimulate the principle of creativity. The article touches upon some views by A. Losev, who introduced concepts of archetypical and ectypical, exposing logical and methodological aspects of extrapolation of archetypical notions into historical process.
