Essay on the history of study of folk culture in Russia
Abstract
This article presents a historical summary of the studies of the folk culture in Russia and focuses on the main points of institutionalization of the sciences of the folk culture. The XIX century Russian saw an appearance of scientific schools, namely the mythological school, cultural-historical school, comparativehistorical school, psycholinguistic school, which aimed at carrying out researches in the folk culture. At the same time Russian scientific societies collected folklore and ethnographic datas, developed methodology of the folk culture researches. The article describes these scientific schools, Russian scientific societies and independent researchers (Mikhail Bakhtin, Vladimir Propp, Mikhail Shakhnovich and others).
