HOLISTIC DISCOURSE: THE LEGITIMIZATION OF THE SOCIO-CULTURAL REALITY
Abstract
Th e author invites to think about the cultural specifi city of being within a holistic methodological discourse. It is the most appropriate technique of not only vision, but also existential legitimation of objects of social and cultural reality. To compare the methodological values of diff erent approaches, the author introduces the criterion of “cultural signifi cance” to the defi nition of the term. Th e article presents various phenomena of socio-cultural life and identifi es their essential features: a two-leveled structure, the presence of the superfactual halo of sense and integrity. Holistic objects assume the presence of the corresponding receptive skills in a cultural subject. As a cultural space is formed by objects of this kind, the value of their notional fi xation, which can be realized only in the framework of a holistic vision, becomes obvious. Refs 10.
