Th e subject of this paper is to focus on what the meaning of experience can be used for introducing the concept of aesthetic experience. Th e author underlines that most of the theories of aesthetic experience is aimed at identifying the essence of «aesthetic», ignoring the notion of experience. To develop the idea, the author introduces a tentative defi nition of experience, tracing the way in which its components are related to the concept of aesthetic experience. As a result, the author concludes that there are at least three meanings of the concept of experience that fi t to the analysis of aesthetic experience. Based on this analysis, the author comes to a conclusion about the role of the individual and the representation of experience in the concept of aesthetic experience. Refs 18.
