Abstract

The problems of war and peace, reconciliation of the warring parties, and the prevention of dangerous and large–scale forms of conflict resistance in the modern world are of concern to everyone: scholars, politicians, and the public. International institutions and organizations, states, public associations, and individual citizens are engaged in solving issues related to peacekeeping activities. Therefore, peacemaking is becoming an extensive and not only structured and institutionalized activity. A systematic interdisciplinary approach to peacemaking and peacebuilding is poorly represented in modern conflictology. This study is aimed at solving this problem. The article examines the main directions of peacekeeping activities, as well as peacebuilding from the standpoint of the conflictological paradigm. The analysis uses complex (interdisciplinary) conflictological methods (institutional and technological analysis), as well as general theoretical and applied research methods: search analysis and synthesis, generalization, document analysis, classification, and moderation. As a result, an analytical conflictological model of peacemaking and peacebuilding as a socio-political technology is proposed. It is the basic idea of peacebuilding that defines both the essence of the technology itself and the social consequences to which it leads in the mechanism of its reproduction, rooting certain forms of social interaction aimed at maintaining peace instead of the conflict
paradigm of relations.
