Th e author examines the phenomenon of selfi es as a kind of retrograde motion, which gradually restores old European cultural tradition. As a result contemporary «cluster culture» for which normative reality is the Internet, becomes infected by a Central topos of old European cultural tradition, namely the Subject and its «cultural avatar» — selfi e.
