SOCIOCULTURAL MECHANISMS OF POWER AND BUSINESS CONFLICTS REPRODUCTION IN RUSSIA
Abstract
Th e purpose of this paper is to reveal specifi cs of confl ict interaction between business and power in Russia as a transitional society and to analyze features of the institutional environment of this confl ict. Another purpose of the paper is to analyze several concepts of the confl ict studies for their usefulness in examination of the relationship between business and authorities in post-Soviet Russia. Th is allows one to solve analytical problem of confl ict analysis in Russia and to describe the content of the new business development in Russia. Power resource is an important factor in the relations between business and authority in a transitional society. Th e existence of a power resource still has a serious impact on the resolution of disputes between the economic agents. Th e behavior of two subjects of the confl ict of business and the authorities is dictated only by their own interests. Ties of the business and authority in Russia cause social distrust and negative attitude to both institutes. Th e paper shows new multidisciplinary approach to the study of political and business confl icts. Confl ict analysis in the paper is combined with empirical data to show the real situation in Russia in the interaction between business and authorities. Refs 42.
