The concept of the nation and the problem of national self-determination in Fichte’s “Speeches to the German nation”
Abstract
First Russian translation of the Fichte’s “Speeches to the German nation” was published for the 200th anniversary of their appearance. The interest to this famous and controversial work of the great philosopher is aroused by the fact that at the end of the XXth century national problem is becoming one of the crucial problems both in Russia and beyond its borders. This problem, as history shows, has no simple solution. What Fichte’s “Speeches to the German nation” give for the understanding of nation concept and for the 128 national self-determination problem solution? To answer the question, the author analyses this work and tries to determine Fichte’s contribution to the research of such delicate issue.
